"This contract represents a great opportunity for Landmark Aviation's DAL location. We are not only confident of our ability to offer exceptional service to American Airlines, it's a logical expansion of our business base, as well," said Jim Hopkins, Landmark's vice president of large fleet and government contracts. "Throughout our system, we provide a broad range of services to airlines. We pump approximately 130,000,000 gallons per year at 11 different Landmark Aviation locations. We've been in the airline fueling business for over 20 years. Not only do we perform 'into plane fueling,' we also offer Ground Service Equipment (GSE) maintenance, baggage handling, push back, aircraft cleaning, ticketing, jetway maintenance and charter operations for large aircraft."
American previously operated out of DAL with a major operation there prior to the opening of Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport in 1974. The airline also operated at DAL from 1998 to 2001, discontinuing service there after the September 11th attacks.
Landmark Aviation's DAL facility has been in operation since 1948 where it provides general aviation support through its fixed base operation. This facility is also home to Associated Air Center, a Landmark Aviation company and world leader in design and completion work for transport category aircraft.
