Landmark Aviation Named John Hovis General Manager of the Year

Houston, TX — 04/01/2012

Landmark Aviation named John Hovis General Manager of the Year at its annual General Managers’ Meeting held in San Antonio, TX.

“John exemplifies the role and expectations of a Landmark Aviation General Manager,” said Ted Hamilton, Executive Vice President of Operations. “His exceptional financial performance, leadership, innovation, and selfless service to other Landmark locations is a clear indication of the high level of performance he strives for.”

John Hovis is a native Washingtonian and a former member of the United States Marine Corps. He has been with Landmark Aviation for over 20 years. Since taking on the role of General Manager at IAD, he has improved the processes and service levels at one of Landmark’s busiest locations.

“My first thought when being named GM of the Year, as I thought about the successes from the previous year, was all of the effort put forth by my team at IAD,” John explained. “I look at this award as a collective effort. Although I lead my team, I am well aware that I am unable to do all that we do without them.”

John has been instrumental in supporting many of Landmark’s special events, tradeshows and transitions over the last year. He has lent both his time and the time of his team to support other locations throughout the years, as well as hosting employees from other locations in order to give these employees experiences they may not easily gain at their home base. Most notably, he was a key player in Landmark’s MIA transition over the summer, and also assisted in helping to start up Landmark’s OAK operation.

“When we sat down to consider which General Manager has unselfishly and selflessly given for the Landmark team, and in fact has worked hard all year, it was John who embodied those qualities,” Ted noted.

In recognition of his performance, he will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Kauai, HI as well as a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe for his use over the next year.
