Landmark Aviation named Mario Diaz General Manager of the Year

Houston,TX

Landmark Aviation named Mario Diaz General Manager of the Year at its annual General Managers’ Meeting held in Scottsdale, AZ.

As General Manager of Landmark’s San Antonio location over the last two years, Mario has managed to increase his location’s revenue, improve the overall level of customer service, build strong relationships with the airport, and increase involvement with the San Antonio community, all while enduring a major facility remodel.

“Over the last year Mario has actively and aggressively sought large aircraft and airline business for his location and has grown his business despite a disruptive remodel,” said Ted Hamilton, Executive Vice President of Operations.

Mario Diaz grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico and came to the U.S. to attend the University of Texas at Austin. He later went on to earn his multi-engine commercial license before entering the general aviation industry with Trajen FBO Network. After several years as a Customer Service Representative, Mario came to Landmark to assist as a key member of the transition team. He took on his first General Manager role at Landmark’s LAX location before moving on to San Antonio.

Mario has been instrumental in supporting the growth of the network. He has added a significant amount of business from Mexico, Central America and South America to Landmark’s Southern locations. His willingness to assist other locations during transitions, major events, and during times of need demonstrates his commitment to the Company and sets him apart.

“As impressive as his dedication to his San Antonio team is, his support of other managers, company business development objectives, and acquisition support is clearly an example for all to follow,” Regional Vice President Greg Sutphin explained.

In recognition of his performance, he will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Sonoma, CA as well as a 2011 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe for his use over the next year.
